四則演算に関する用語・表現の英訳一覧(Words and phrases relating to four arithmetic operations)

四則演算に関する用語・表現について、英語（English）・日本語（Japanese）の対訳を掲載しております。

また、式の読み方を載せております。

四則演算：four arithmetic operations ; basic arithmetic operations ; arithmetic

“arithmetic”は「算数」と和訳されることが多いですが、実際は四則演算のことを指します。

また、式のことを”an expression”といいます。

“１＋２＝３”は、”One plus two equals three.”と読みます。

“３－１＝２”は、”Three minus one equals two.”と読みます。

“２×３＝６”は、”Two times three equals six.”と読みます。

“６÷３＝２”は、”Six divided by three equals two.”と読みます。

割り切れない（not to be able to divide a number evenly）場合の式の読み方は次の通りです。

“７÷３＝２・・・１”は、”Seven divided by three equals two with the remainder ofone.”と読みます。

“remainder”は「余り」という意味です。

“（”（かっこ） ⇒the quantity

“）”（かっこ閉じる）⇒close quantity

かっこのある式を読むときは、始まりのかっこを”the quantity”と読み、かっこ内の式を読み、終わりのかっこを”close quantity”と読みます。

“20÷（３＋１）＝20÷４＝５”は、”Twenty divided by the quantity, three plus one, close quantity, equals twenty divided by four equals five.”と読みます。
